If you have been an android partizan, by now it should have occurred to you that android, candy, and the alphabetical order struck a deal with Google for the purpose of naming Android's new releases.
By now it is obvious that Android follows an alphabetical order in naming its andriod series, and that makes it easier for one to guess the confectionery name that could tag the next version.
Currently most flagship android devices are running on Lollipop and Marshmallow whose environments graced the showcasing of Material Design on android apps. Most devices have not received the marshmallow OTA(over the air) update, but that will not stop Google from releasing Android N Nougat later this year.
Rumors hovering around android N had it that the "N" would stand for Nutella, which was preferred by most users whose brains and appetite thrive with candy names. Google went out of its way to create a platform for users to suggest names, and i was glad an android developer friend of mine, one Jonathan Amigos, never made it in time to suggest his preferred name, "Android Nipples" or "Noodles". It's official from the statue at the Google headquarters that the next android will be Android Nougat.
The Android N reveal was first unveiled on Snapchat via Google's snapchat story and the news was later tweeted. The reveal elicited mixed reactions from users, with many crying wolf immediately their nutella bubble was burst by a Nougat
Nonetheless, the android world wont cease to spin just because their self esteem was bruised by Nougat overriding Nutella. On the bright side(flipside), this is the opportunity for those android nerds to name their pets Nutella.
